The AMR Agency

Representing Actors, Models, and Talent

Faqs

The Agency

  1. What are your hours of operation?

Monday through Friday; 10:30am to 4:30pm (by appointment only).  NO WALK-INS.

  2. How should I call the Agency?

When prompted by the answering machine, leave a message with your name, contact number, and reason for calling.  Do not hang up and call back.  Please note that excessive calls ARE monitored.

  3. Do you hold Open Calls?

Yes.  We hold ONE open call every three months.  The dates and times are posted on the home page of The AMR Agency website.

  4. What are your Social Networking sites?

  5. Is the Agency Union Franchised?

No, The AMR Agency is not currently franchised with any union. There are well over a hundred professionally recognized talent agencies that are not union-franchised. There are several reasons for remaining non-franchised in the SE Market, including that: (a) The Atlanta, Georgia market produces more non-union film and commercial projects than union projects. (b) Georgia is a "Right to Work" state, so even if you are “Taft Hartley-ed” you do not have to join the union. And, (c) Union members may apply and be granted "financial core" status; which enables them to work on non-union projects.

Applying for Representation

  1. How can I apply with the Agency?

We are always looking for fresh faces. TO APPLY, click here to access our talent application form. You will be asked to visit your personal email to verify and complete this application. At least one photo upload is required. Contact support@agencyprotalent.com for technical assistance with the application.

  2. Do you accept everyone that applies?

NO.  We do not accept everyone that applies.  While we would love to work with as many Talent as possible, it is not feasible to do so.  We select Talent who we feel have either demonstated their book-ability through previous work or that have the potential to book consistent work.

  3. Does it cost anything to join the Agency?

NO. There are no up front costs to join the Agency. Nor are there "evaluation" fees of any kind. However, the software we use offers an optional account upgrade for marketing tools.

  4. Do I have to pay for new photos to join the Agency?

NO. We believe in raising the bar and putting our best foot forward. That means that all Talent regardless of skill level will have or be provided with professional photos for client submissions. A free headshot and full body photo shoot will be provided for new Talent. Talent with photos over a year old will also receive a free headshot and full body photo shoot. Talent will receive ONE headshot and ONE full body shot from the photo shoot. Please note that photos are not over edited and are not "glamour" images, but are commercial/lifestyle images. "Raising the Bar' Photo shoots may include make-up, posing instruction, and wardrobe selection.

  5. What do I need to apply as Talent?

All Talent (Dancers, Singers, Musicians, etc) must be prepared to provide a Reel or to perform a 1 minute recorded routine/monologue.

  6. What level of availability do you seek?

Generally, we seek Talent that have open availability during the week (Monday through Friday). The majority of auditions and bookings are during the week (Monday through Friday) from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Talent seeking to work evenings and/or weekends only will not work as consistently as Talent who are available during the week. Futhermore, paid projects that work in the evening only or on weekends only are rare. There are a few; however, the majority of PAID projects occur during normal business hours.

Contract Talk

  1. What is the Agency Commission?

The Agency Commission is 10-20% on all jobs that TALENT books through or because of AMR.  In the event that a client pays the TALENT directly, TALENT must then send the Agency Commission to AMR within ONE week of receiving payment.

  2. Are your contracts exclusive?

Yes and No. We offer both exclusive and non-exclusive contracts.

    • If AMR signs Talent NON-EXCLUSIVELY, Talent is free to find work on their own AND sign and/or work with other Non-Exclusive Agencies to further their career. No Commission is taken on work that Talent finds on their own.
    • If AMR signs Talent EXCLUSIVELY, Talent is free to find work on their own, but can not sign with another Agency (exclusively or non-exclusively). No Commission is taken on work that Talent finds on their own.
  3. What's the length of a Contract?

Contracts are for one to two year(s) and are automatically renewed annually until cancelled by the Agency or Talent.

  4. What are the Contract Requirements for signed talent?

As an AMR Actor, Model, or Talent we require that the following be completed:

    • Complete & Signed Contract
    • One approved headshot and One approved full body shot
    • New Photo Submissions (yearly for adults or sooner if your look changes dramatically, twice yearly for children under 16).
    • Continuous Training
  5. How can a Contract be ended?

Contracts can be ended by Talent or by the Agency.  See below for details:

    • BY TALENT:  After one year, simply mail a letter to the Agency stating that you would like to be released from your contract.
    • BY THE AGENCY:  A letter will be mailed to Talent releasing them from their contracts.
  6. Why was my Contract ended?

GEORGIA IS A WORK-FOR-HIRE STATE. Contracts can be ended at any time for any reason or no reason at all. General reasons why Contracts may be terminated by the Agency include:

    • Non-compliance with Contractual Obligations (free photo shoot and free training courses).
    • NO calls or NO shows on bookings.
    • Rudeness or inappropriate behavior on set, towards agents, or on public social networking sites.
    • Providing casting or audition information to Talent not signed to the Agency.
    • Making a habit of calling the Agent's personal phone numbers for Agency related questions. Please always call the office line.
    • Excessive calls and hang-ups with no messages.
    • Failure to apply work opportunities over a 30 day period.

  4. Should I Call For Work?

NO. Do not call or email asking for additional work. All castings that fit your type will be emailed to you.

  5. Why can't you submit me for everything?

The simple answer is that you don't fit the requirements for EVERY casting or audition.

The Agency rarely accepts unpaid assignments UNLESS they will be beneficial to our Talent. Unpaid assignments are accepted on a case-by-case basis and are usually reserved for New and In Development talent only.

NO. The Agency has little to no control over how often work comes in and how often you will be chosen for the jobs that we do receive.
